Creative Story Teller – Media, Marketing & Social Media Specialist

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative person to support the growth and development of Jordan’s leading adventure travel company, recently awarded ‘Best in Adventure’ globally.  

The role is to create and tell stories of Jordan through photography and videos, and promoting them through various channels.  

 

Duties and Essential Job Functions

  • The role will require travel across Jordan and the candidate should be able to spend time away from Amman on trips with both Jordanians and foreigners
  • Taking photos and videos of sites and people on trips across Jordan
  • Create advertisements, Instagram stories, short videos, brochures, newsletters, and other communications to support sales and marketing
  • Create and maintain overall and project-specific communication and social media plans;
  • Manage and monitor posts on company’s social media pages
  • Manage and organize the companies media content (photos and videos)
  • Identify key external audiences and specific communication tools for reaching them;
  • Write, edit, and manage blog articles
  • Create data visualization and written case studies upon request for inclusion in presentations and reports.
  • Provide audience analytics data for inclusion in reports.
  • At least weekly, provide the management team with a program status update, highlighting issues that need attention.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Ideal Candidate 

  • Has a good eye for media content
  • Has demonstrated experience in the development of a successful social media-focused campaign/communication plan;
  • Proven ability to work creatively and independently both in the field and in the office;
  • Excellent English, ability to write effective advertising content
  • Great interpersonal skills, able to make people feel relaxed while they have their photos taken or have short videos shot.  
  • Should be able to conduct short interviews with travelers and Jordanians, drawing out their passions and experiences.

 

Skills

  • SEO Tools: Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics;
  • Experience with and knowledge of design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, video editing, etc.)
  • Ability to multitask, handle several projects at once;
  • Self-starter and strong team player;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Critical thinker with analytical skills;
  • Strong MS Office skills, Programming skills are a plus;
  • Ability and eagerness for learning new technologies;
  • Comfortable working in a diverse and collaborative environment

Volunteer Intern

 

We have had lots of interns work with us, from 1-week to 6-month opportunities. We can provide interesting work, with opportunities to explore Jordan with our company. Previous interns have created videos, assisted with trips, explored new sights and restaurants, written blog articles and social media content, assisted with the Jordan Bike Trail development, as well as various business administration tasks.
