Get to see stunning, hidden areas of Jordan

Hiking in the forested areas of northern Jordan, or along one of its fertile wadis, with a local guide who knows his trees and flowers and local landmarks, is a superb way to spend a day at the weekend. Hikes in other areas can involve wading through the flowing waters of a canyon with palm trees, ferns and orchids growing from the cliffs, and with the occasional mini-waterfall – you can’t believe you’re in a country that is mainly desert!
