An exceptional Wadi with exceptional guides!

Wadi Hidan is a tremendously beautiful wadi with it’s black basaltic and sandstone walls, gorges, waterfalls and greenery. It is crazy to think I’ve missed it on my many trips to Jordan..and I’m Jordanian. It’s wonderful that Experience Jordan are making these hidden and underrated parts of Jordan available to explore and enjoy.

Our trip was seamless. Mohammed finalised our booking at the Experience Jordan office in Amman- he was cheerful and professional and got us excited for our trip! The group enjoyed a lovely welcome from our delightful guides- Ayman, Jawad and Saleem- and a scenic bus journey to Wadi Hidan.

We were equipped with a life jacket and helmet and hit the road, or wadi.
We walked, climbed, jumped, swam, and slid through the magnificent wadi. Every corner was picture perfect. (I personally also did some slipping, crawling and sunbathing). All under the watchful eyes of our guides- who continually made sure every member of our group was safe, comfortable and enjoying the day.Their energy and passion really made the day for us. They went the extra mile by serving a lovely cooked lunch by a waterfall followed by sweet tea and date cakes- we were living the dream!

There were some challenging obstacles that were made perfectly manageable with our guides skilfully guiding each member’s footing in turn. Safety was paramount. Adrenaline unbeatable.

Tips: Experience Jordan provides you with all the information you need before your trip ie hiking shoes, water, sunblock.. here are a few more tips-
-There is no escaping water- you will want to jump dance and float in it- a dry bag, or tupperware comes very handy for your phone if, like us, you must carry it.
-suitable backpacks
– long shorts or sleeves to protect from sun/grazes/horse flies!
